Making the leap from work that leaves you feeling uninspired and underpaid to something better can be a daunting task. You don’t need unnecessary distractions or confusion. To that end, we want to assure you that we treat your privacy and personal information with the care and responsibility they deserve and to provide you with transparency in relation to our personal information management practices. This Privacy Notice is part of our effort to achieve that.
When you visit our Websites (https://www.resumescripter.com/ and https://www.rsworks.org/ ) to build your resume, initiate coaching services, or provide career-related support (through our relationship with your employer or career counselor), you will share your personal information in various ways. We also share personal information with a limited number of third parties with whom we work to make your experience with Resume Scripter simple, convenient, and relevant to your career goals..

How we collect personal information
We may collect personal information from you directly or indirectly. When you register for an account on our Websites, for example, you provide personal information directly to us. Other times, personal information is collected automatically as you use the Websites. We also may receive personal information from those third parties with whom we work.
We collect personal information when you provide it
When you register for an account with us as a career counselor, you will provide personal information that includes your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. You will create a username and password, information that on subsequent visits helps us confirm your identity and makes it easier to use our services.
When you purchase one of our career counseling packages, you will provide personal information that includes your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and purchasing history. For users of https://www.rsworks.org/, we will retain your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and current work experience. We keep this information not only to make subsequent visits and purchases more convenient but to keep your job search on track.
You may provide similar information to us in person at workshops or during coaching sessions. You also may share your personal information with us by phone or old-fashioned postal mail if you’re seeking support, scheduling a coaching session, or requesting a demonstration of our services.
The information you provide directly to us is explicitly with your consent and may include personal information of a more sensitive nature, such as your gender, level of education, age, and possibly photographs. Providing this information to us is essential to what we do at Resume Scripter, since each job seeker brings particular skills and experiences to job searches, as he or she will to future employers.
We collect personal information from third-party sources
We may collect personal information about you from our third-party providers, such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Flodesk, Square, Stripe and Intuit. These third parties help us maintain the Websites, analyze traffic on them, handle email communications, and process your payments.
We sometimes collect personal information from LinkedIn for marketing purposes, which helps us match job opportunities with clients’ skills and experiences. We also may collect personal information from online social networks if you take part in a public conversation, for example, on Facebook or Twitter. We may collect personal information when you click “Share This” or “Like” buttons or otherwise use social media buttons or plug-ins.
We collect personal information using automated technologies
Sometimes personal information is collected by automated technologies and shared with us when visitors navigate through our Websites. We may track your browsing actions and log your IP address.

We also collect and use this information to provide easier, quicker access to our Websites and secure the information you have provided. As users navigate the Websites, their movements will be tracked and analyzed. Doing so allows us to improve their experiences. We also use personal information:
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect fraud and provide access to the Websites, as well as maintain their security and integrity.
- To provide updates regarding the Websites and marketing information, such as special promotions or surveys, etc.

We use WordPress and Google Analytics to study how users interact with our Websites and keep them operating. This allows us to see what areas of our Websites are most engaging and provide relevant and useful information to our visitors.
We use Mailchimp and Flodesk to manage and facilitate email communications and support requests.
We use Square, Stripe and Intuit to process payments, and we share personal information with these providers as necessary.

We are a small, independently owned business that welcomes feedback and uses clients’ testimonials to get the word out about our company. That may include not only their career stories but photographs. Submitting those to Resume Scripter is deemed consent to use them on our Websites. We also want to hear how we’re doing in general. If you have suggestions for improving our services or workshops, we want those as well. Please be aware that any feedback relating to services on our Websites or social media channels may be publicly shared.
Eventual successors may access information
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other sale of all or a portion of our assets, any user information owned or controlled by us may be among the assets transferred to third parties as successors in interest. Viewing or updating your personal information
For users of our Resume Scripter services, please email us (email@example.com) to update your name, contact information, physical address, and work histories.
If you are a career counselor with licensed access to RS Works and you wish to update your contact details, please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org). For individuals working with a career counselor using our RS Works service, you will need to contact that organization directly to request updates to any of your personal information as those organizations control what information is stored in RS Works.
Deactivating your account
For users of our Resume Scripter services, please email us (email@example.com) if you wish for us to delete your personal information.
If you are a career counselor with licensed access to RS Works, you may deactivate your account at any time by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Deactivate Account” in the subject line. Upon receiving your request, we will deactivate your account and delete personal information where allowed or required by applicable law.
Opting out of promotional emails
If you do not wish to receive promotional e-mails from us, you may follow the unsubscribe process at the bottom of the promotional e-mail you received or by emailing us at email@example.com and putting “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. You still may receive transactional e-mails from us (such as e-mails related to the completion of your registration, correction of user data, password reset requests, reminder e-mails you have requested, and other similar communications) that may be necessary for us to make the Websites available to you, respond to your inquiries and support requests, or fulfill orders for our services.
Our services are for sale in the United States only
We currently do not target or market our services to anyone outside of the United States, specifically in the European Economic Area (including Switzerland and the United Kingdom), nor Canada. We do not intend for our Websites to be accessed by anyone in those jurisdictions. In the event we begin to tailor our Websites and services to people in those geographic areas, we will update these terms to ensure we reflect any additional rights reserved under applicable laws. For California Consumers
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides specific rights to those who live in California. However, Resume Scripter currently is not subject to the law. If our business practices and future expansion changes so that the California law applies to us, we will update these terms to ensure we reflect any additional rights reserved under applicable laws. Those updates will be made available within this Privacy Notice, in accordance with those regulations.
Identity verification requirement
The law requires us to verify that any request submitted was made by someone with the legal right to access the information. Therefore, before accessing or divulging any information pursuant to a data access request, we may request that you provide additional information so we can verify your identity and legal authority, particularly when the information provided with the request is insufficient to confirm legal authority and/or identity.
